Connecting an iCloud account

We can sync your Apple iCloud calendars to Rise. In order to do that, you’ll need to set up an App Specific password. This gives Rise access to your calendars and events.

Here’s how you set that up:

1. Go to account.apple.com

Head over to account.apple.com and sign in using your Apple ID.

2. Navigate to App-Specific Passwords section

On the screen below, click ‘Sign-In and Security’, and then ‘App-Specific Passwords’.

3. Create a new App-Specific Password

Click ‘Generate an app-specific password’.

Enter a description for the App-Specific Password, eg ‘Rise’.

Copy the generated password into Rise.

Back in Rise, enter your Apple ID (your email address you use to sign in into Apple) and the newly generated App-Specific Password. Now click ‘Connect iCloud’, and you’re all set.

Revoking access

When you delete the App-Specific password at Apple, Rise will no longer synchronize your calendars and events. We’ll temporarily keep the events around on our end in case you want to reconnect, and remove them when you’re inactive for a while.

When you delete the connection on Rise, we’ll instantly remove all calendars and events on our end. Make sure to also delete the App-Specific Password to make sure no one is able to access your events anymore.
